Coach Christie:

I grew up in Miramar, Florida (yes a Native) and I began my love for cheerleading when I was about 9 years old. I cheered 6 years for the organization called South West Broward Junior Athletic Association (SWBJAA); way way back in the day when cheerleaders wore saddle shoes and those hot sweater vests—ooohh the days.  When I was 15, I coached for the same organization for two years. I also cheered for my High School during my junior and senior year. You will see my wonderful husband Andy around the football field for this is his first year coaching football. My son Ryan starts his Charger run on the Pee Wees this year. If you do not already know my daughter Alexa (Lexi) she will be asking to spend the night at your house soon. Forget about great schools and the great area, we moved to Coral Springs in 2000 so that when Alexa turned 6 she could be a Springs Cheerleader. Sick but true—well in my mind anyway. Professionally ---My other job, the one I actually get paid doing is as a Nursing Supervisor at Coral Springs Medical Center. I work night shift, part time so I can do what I love doing the most. It was a long road to finally get there but it was well worth the wait. Besides my family ,I have what I call my wall of glory which currently holds 6 things that are also very dear to me : 1 nursing degree and 5 CSTFC Coaching plaques. I say this with deep sincerity because you have to experience it to understand what they mean. I hope to add more each year. I look forward to coaching your precious ones and I can only hope that each and every one of them comes from this experience a little more knowledgeable, responsible and above all the best that she can be. I strive for hard work, dedication and teamwork – when all three add up it equals success and to me - success means SUPERIOR.
